Bangkok Premiere of Handmade Nation
Film Screening and Q & A with director Faythe Levine
Saturday February 5th 5:00 PM
FREE

Artist, author and director Faythe Levine covered 19,000 miles and 15 cities, documenting the rise of DIY culture across North America for the film Handmade Nation. Today’s handmade movement has emerged as a synthesis of historical technique, punk culture, and the DIY ethos, heavily influenced by traditional handiwork, modern aesthetics, politics, feminism and art.

Handmade Nation captures the tightly knit community that exists through websites, blogs, and online stores that connect to the greater public through independent boutiques, galleries and craft fairs. Levine’s interviews were conducted on location in artist studios, homes, boutiques, offices and craft fairs, giving the public an exclusive and rarely seen look into the lives of these creative individuals.

Handmade Nation is approximately one hour in duration and will be immediately followed by a short Q & A with the director.

Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. No reservation required.
